Located on Freemont Street, in Downtown Las Vegas, the Golden Nugget is an AAA Four Diamond Award winner for the past 28 years. The hotel/casino has recently gone through a refurbishing of their accommodations, creating richly furnished rooms and suites. Each guest room features armoires with cable televisions, marble bathrooms with vanity area, lighted makeup mirrors and elegant fixtures.

There are five restaurants on site including the romantic Grotto Ristorante, featuring authentic Italian cuisine where everything is homemade on the premise. If you're a steak or seafood lover, do not miss Vic & Anthony's Steakhouse, where the meat is prime, grain fed beef, cooked to perfection along with such elegant entrees as lobster and various seafood and Lillie's Noodle Shop fuses Szechwan, Cantonese and Pan Asia cuisine in an elegant, yet casual atmosphere.

If you're a fan of buffets, the Golden Nugget has a wonderful one, simply called The Buffet. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily plus an elegant Sunday Champagne Brunch. Check out the Carson Street Café where you can experience al fresco dining, weather permitting, in a relaxing ambiance of a European-style sidewalk café.

The Golden Nugget Spa is as elegant as the hotel. They have a great selection of massages and treatments, plush robes, toiletries, shower shoes, a whirlpool, eucalyptus steam room, Swedish showers, cardiovascular and weight rooms, complimentary beverages and snacks, safe boxes and lockers with keys. And best of all, the prices really are reasonable.

There is also a beautiful pool with deck service, a misting system, palm trees and more. Finally, there is the casino, with games for all players from baccarat to the slots and everything in between. And if are wondering where they got their name, check out the Hand of Faith, a gold nugget found in Australia in 1980. The largest gold nugget (61 lbs. 11 oz.) on public display can be found only at the Golden Nugget.
