Description

Located in the Makena area at the foot of Haleakala, the Maui Prince Hotel is an exceptionally beautiful resort that offers guests a serenity not easily found in today's busy world. The resort was built around an Asian meditation garden with waterfalls, quiet corners for contemplation, streams swarming with red and gold carp (Koi) and stone paths throughout. The spacious rooms are beautifully appointed in island décor with beautiful views from all rooms. The Maui Prince Hotel is simply a wonderful resort.

Located on 1,800 acres of unspoiled coastline, the Makena Golf Courses were designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. and are simply spectacular. The courses have won all sorts of awards from Golf Digest and Conde Nast Traveler and are ranked in the Top Ten places to play in Hawaii. The South Course is a 6,739-yard par 72 course with beautiful greens, natural rolling fairways and stunning ocean and mountains views. The signature hole would be the sixteenth which runs parallel to the ocean. A par 4, it's a dogleg right leading to a two-tiered green. The North Course is a 6,914-yard par 72 that takes full advantage of the natural beauty of its setting in the course design, integrating natural Hawaiian rock walls, streambeds and gullies and the indigenous Kiawe trees. The fourteenth hole is a special one to play with its 200-foot drop in elevation from tee to green.
