Shokudo is an Izakaya, which is a bar in Japan that also serves food. Not just any food or snacks, but innovative small plates to share with each other. The restaurant was designed by well known restaurant designer, Yasumichi Morita who created a modern, high ceiling space with hanging lanterns and a tiered dining area. But even though the surroundings are quite fascinating, what makes this restaurant so popular is the food - and it is not just sushi or sashimi - although those are also offered, along with rice and noodles. Try some appetizers such as Chicken Karaage with Spicy Tartar Sauce, a dish of Edamame, delicious and good for you or the Yukatari French Fries - all to share. There are seasonal specials and great entrees such as assorted tempura and fried flounder to choose from. It has great atmosphere, stays open late and the food is really excellent.
