Roy Yamaguchi is considered the father of modern East-West cooking, which he refers to as Hawaiian Regional Cuisine. This year he celebrates his 20th year after opening his first Hawaii restaurant in Hawaii Kai. Soon after it opened, Food & Wine Magazine called it the "crown jewel of Honolulu's East-West eateries" and was named one of Conde Nast Traveler's "Top 50". The menu, the food, the atmosphere all combine to create a memorable restaurant that patrons return to time and time again. No one gets tired of the signature Blackened Ahi or the signature entrees of Hibachi Grilled Salmon or the delicious Macadamia Nut Crusted Fish. The menus might change, but the food remains as excellent and inventive as when they first opened. Open Mon. to Thurs. from 5:30 to 9:30 pm; Fri. from 5:30 to 10 pm; Sat. from 5 to 10 pm; Sun. from 5 to 9:30 pm. Reservations highly recommended.
