Puka Dog has become a cult favorite on the island of Kauai. They recently started another outlet in Waikiki and have been receiving rave reviews ever since. Similar to the hot dog stands at French train stations, Puka Dogs are grilled, Polish Sausages (there is also a Veggie Dog), with the rolls pushed down on a very hot spike, to crisp both the inside and outside. There are homemade sauces and a choice of either traditional relishes or unique tropical relishes …fans of the dogs highly recommend the tropical for a taste like no other. Top it all off with a glass of their homemade lemonade and you have a match made in heaven. Open daily from 10 am to 10 pm.
