This small King Street trattoria-style restaurant is another hidden gem, patronized mostly by local residents for the past 15 years. Chef owner Fabrizo Favale grew up in Rome and his food reflects the home-style cooking he enjoyed during family meals. His background was in construction and interior design, both of which are reflected in his restaurant, which is absolutely charming with rustic furniture, beautiful Italian ceramics, soothing colors and a feeling of almost being in someone's home. Someone who also happens to be an excellent chef. All the ravioli, pastas and gnocchi are homemade in-house each day as well as the various sauces. The Insalata di Mare is filled with mussels, calamari, fish and clams and his Spicy Puttanesca Sauce is fabulous. Or try the delicious Meat Carbonara with not only chunks of bacon but also Italian sausage, an unforgettable dish. There is a nice choice of appetizers, salads and desserts. There is no full bar, but a very good selection of wine and beer is offered. Portions are very generous and the prices are very reasonable, especially with the quality of the food. Open Mon. to Sat. from 5:30 to 9:30 pm.
