There are thousands of sit down dining possibilities on Oahu, from little hole-in-the-wall noodle shops to 5-star award winning restaurants. While Waikiki has a number of excellent restaurants, for some of the best prices you need to get out into the neighborhoods of Honolulu where the local residents dine. Many are award winning restaurants, not only in the state of Hawaii, but also cited for their excellence by some of the highest regarded food and travel magazine reviewers.
The Kaimuki neighborhood is often called restaurant row due to its large amount of restaurants, many of them multi-award winning. Kapahulu and Monsarrat Avenues have some excellent restaurants to choose from, as well as Manoa, Ala Moana Center and Victoria Ward Centers areas. There is a great variety of great restaurants in downtown Honolulu/Chinatown that have opened recently and most of the prices are very low for what you are getting.
