It would be easy to fall in love with the Hula Grill and eat there as often as possible. The location alone deserves to be in a Hollywood movie, preferably of the romantic genre - on the water's edge of Ka'anapali Beach with views of the islands of Molokai and Lanai, a beach house reminiscent of the plantation era serving as the indoor dining area and the beautiful outdoor patio with thatch roofed umbrellas that almost scream out romance. Add in one of the founders of the Hawaii Regional Cuisine revolution, Peter Merriman as chef and you have a restaurant not to miss. A fine dining treasure it has been called the Best Fish Restaurant in Hawaii, so if you're a fish lover, check out the wood grilled Ahi steak, Kiawe (Mesquite) wood grilled, Tandoori style or the ever popular Macadamia Nut crusted fish.

Some of the traditional items on the menu include a wonderful Coconut Seafood Chowder filled with lobster, scallops, Hawaiian fish and shrimp all simmered in a coconut cilantro broth - heaven in a bowl! Or try the Prime Kansas City cut strip steak, grilled over Kiawe wood and served with fresh herb butter. And for an appetizer, of which there is a nice selection, try the scallop and lobster potstickers with a delicious guava plum sauce. Whatever you choose, you are sure to be delighted with the combination of fresh ingredients, amazing flavors and beautiful presentation. There is a full wine list, a children's menu (also available at the Barefoot Bar) and of course, the experience of dining under the stars, by the beach, with the sounds of the waves music to dine by. Open daily for lunch from 11 am to 3 pm and dinner from 5 to 9:30 pm.
