The award winning Big Wave Café has been voted the #1 restaurant out of 125 in the Kihei area by TripAdvisor reviewers. Chef/owner Raul Bermudez is well known for creating great food at great prices. He only uses the freshest fruits, vegetables and local seafood in his innovative dishes and the prices are extremely reasonable for such good food. You can create your own omelet or sit down to a classic Eggs Benedict or try out the delicious Ahi spinach salad with baby spinach, candied walnuts, smoked bacon and crumbled blue cheese with citrus vinaigrette and topped with blackened and seared Yellow Fin Tuna. He also serves up a great variety of sandwiches, burgers, wraps, vegetarian fare and some local favorites such as Shoyu Chicken and Kalua Pork, both with steamed white rice and macaroni salad.

Dinner entrees go from the sublime to the sublime, meaning beautiful prepared, served and filled with flavor. Try the Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi Mahi with Jasmine rice, vegetables, passion fruit sauce and mango salsa or the Roast Pork Tenderloin, marinated in EVOO and Dijon mustard with sun dried tomato Polenta and Pomegranate Demi Glace - one of those "to die for" culinary moments. The have a great kid's menu for under 12 and a long list of desserts, including not quite a banana split, but instead Bananas Foster, with bananas flambed with dark rum and brown sugar over a premium vanilla ice cream, whipped cream and cinnamon, no cherry on top, it sort of clashes with the run. It's a terrific place, gets great reviews from young and old, offers both indoor and outdoor dining and best of all, the food is great and the prices are really low. Open daily from 7:30 am to 9 pm, serving ala carte brunch, late lunch and dinner.
