State Of Hawaii Smoking Policy

On November 16, 2006 a new Hawaii state law will take effect banning smoking in a variety of public places as well as most restaurants, bars, lounges and hotels.

Many of the hotels will be implementing this policy as early as the middle of October, 2006.

Most of the hotels are designating several public locations on their property where smoking is permitted and some are offering a limited number of guestrooms where smoking is allowed only on the outdoor lanai, which would be available on a request basis and if available, assigned at check in.
