Department of Homeland Security has issued new security measures
Effective August 10, 2006 the Department of Homeland Security has issued new security measures as follows:
- All liquid-based substances (hair gel, lotion, shampoo, cream, nonprescription liquids such as contact lens solution, eye drops, etc.)
and toothpaste must be in your checked baggage.
- All liquid refreshments must be finished prior to going through Security.
- The exceptions are: Baby formula, breast milk or juice if a baby or small child is traveling;
prescription medicine that matches a passenger's ticket, insulin and essential other nonprescription medicines.
- Limit your carry on items to your essential needs to facilitate easier screening.
- For Hawaii interisland flights, arrive at the airport at least 2 hours prior to departure.
- For Domestic and International flights, arrive at the airport at least 3 hours prior to departure.
