If you are visiting Hawaii, you might be overwhelmed with the number of things to do in Hawaii. You also might be overwhelmed with the high cost of Hawaiian vacations – especially the things to do once you get there. Even with Hawaii package deals, you can end up spending more money once you are there than you spend trying to get there.
However, there are a number of things that you can do in Hawaii that are free or very affordable. Along with saving money by getting your hotel and airfare together in Hawaii packages, you can also make your trip more affordable by doing some of these cheap – or even free – events.
• The International Marketplace in Oahu offers clothes, food, jewelry and souvenirs from around the world. Located in the shade under several large banyan trees, it’s an enjoyable place to shop for cheap goods or just stroll.
• The Royal Hawaiian Band performs for free at the Iolani Palace on Fridays starting at noon and at the Kapiolani Park on Sundays starting at 2 p.m.
• Waimanalo Polo Grounds in Oahu has daily polo matches featuring horses and riders looking to score goals. The matches are free to watch, so pick a team to root for and learn about this classic sport.
