The Lodge at Molokai Ranch is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World and when you visit there you will understand how and why it received this honor. Located on the 65,000 acre ranch at an elevation of 1200 feet, the views are simply spectacular of the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding countryside. And it really is countryside since there are no traffic lights or high rises on Molokai and a population of only about 7,000 people.

The Lodge was built in the style of a traditional ranch house with verandas and balconies, simple yet elegantly furnished, offering 22 guest rooms. The Lodge's main building features a beautiful, rustic-style living room with a two story fireplace, an extremely cozy upstairs library and television room, the Maunaloa Room for dining, the relaxing Paniolo Lounge with a TV sitting area and billiards room and the Lodge den, complete with computer and high speed wireless internet access.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and very spacious at 400 sq. feet each with a 140 sq. ft. furnished balcony. They feature either one king or two double beds, quilt bedspreads and weathered wood and wrought iron furnishings. The bathrooms are oversized and feature freestanding pedestal sinks, claw footed high back tubs, separate rain-simulated showers and bath amenities that include red alae and black lava bath salts. Other amenities include wet bar with complimentary bottled water on arrival, coffee/tea maker, mini refrigerator, cable television, writing desk, high speed data ports, AM/FM clock radio, bath robes & slippers, hairdryer and more.

For dining, the Maunaloa Room offers open-air inside and outside seating on the veranda that overlooks the countryside. The cuisine features Pacific Rim, a delightful combination of flavors, spices and foods from both Asia and America. The Maunaloa Room serves breakfast from 7 to 10:30 am and dinner from 6 to 9 pm nightly. The Paniolo Lounge features a much lighter fare of appetizers, sandwiches and beverages, serving both lunch and dinner and cocktails daily from 10:30 am to 10 pm. The dining room also serves up a wonderful Asian buffet on Sunday nights and a Pasta Fest on Wednesday night. Children under 12 years old eat free when dining with a paying adult at any of the buffets and from a children's menu available ala carte.

What to do in such an idyllic place? The Lodge offers its guests an array of outdoor adventures for every taste. Saddle up for a Paniolo (Cowboy) Trail Ride from the ranch's rodeo and stable area for a 90-minute unforgettable journey. Try out your skill in archery or clay shooting, play croquet, stroll the private beach looking for shells, bike on the 120 miles of mountain bike trails, take a guided nature walk with native Hawaiians, kayak in the ocean, even learn to spearfish or make a lei. Then again you could loll in and by the heated infinity pool and watch the clouds go by, take a long leisurely lunch on the veranda or perhaps indulge yourself in the healing arts of the Spa, from lomi massage and shiatsu to acupuncture and Hatha Yoga lessons. There is also a state-of-the-art Fitness Center with saunas, workout room, showers and lockers. Some activities might require an additional fee.
