The 3-Star Outrigger Aina Nalu, formerly the Ohana Maui Islander, is a condominium resort, located on nine lush, tropical acres at the foot of the West Maui Mountains, yet only a block from the lively atmosphere of Front Street, the main street of historic Lahaina town.

There are 188 beautifully furnished air-conditioned studio, one and two bedroom condominiums in the two story Plantation-style buildings. Typical of island condominiums of three stories or less, there are no elevators, so be prepared to climb some stairs, especially if you want a lanai/balcony. The rooms are decorated with natural stone flooring, designer carpets and feature contemporary island style furnishings using the colors of russet and bronze. Every unit offers open-beamed ceilings, airy rooms and kitchenette or full kitchen.

Studio units include a kitchenette with mini refrigerator, built in microwave, cookware and tableware. One and two bedroom units include a kitchen with built in microwave, ceramic cook top and oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, cookware and tableware. The rooms are all extremely spacious with many amenities including Cable/satellite TV, voice mail, wake up calls, alarm clock radio, ceiling fans, direct dial phone with data port, hair dryer, in-room safe (fee) and walk in natural stone showers.

Property amenities include two pools (the new larger one is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2007), barbeque and picnic area, private poolside cabanas, whirlpool spa, activity desk and an open air lobby with 24 hour front desk.

The Outrigger Aina Nalu is near several championship golf courses and a short 10-minute walk to the center of Lahaina. In the early 1800s, Lahaina Harbor was the busiest whaling port in the Pacific and Front Street was where the action was. Over 200 years later the action is still on the main street of this charmingly restored waterfront attracting visitors and locals alike. There are wonderful restaurants offering excellent Hawaiian regional cuisine, great bars and nightlife. You also can also see one of the largest Banyan Trees in the state, which will be 134 years old on April 24, 2007 with a yearly celebration that naturally includes a cake, a very large cake. The tree is right next to the Pioneer Inn, a popular place with the locals for breakfast out on the porch.

Although there is a small amount of touchups to be completed, this is the very newest property in the immediate Lahaina area and its location cannot be beat. Not only is the location fantastic, it's also a wonderful place to start off from to visit all the many attractions that Maui has to offer. And perhaps the most telling thing about the Aina Nalu is that it gets fantastic reviews from guests who not only appreciate the newness, but the ideal location and the great staff. Check it out for yourself and enjoy a delightful vacation as a couple or with your family.
