The 3.5-star Kapalua Villas is located in the Kapalua Resort, a 1,600-acre paradise featuring three championship golf courses (two of which were designed by Arnold Palmer) with preferred rates for guests, 10 lighted complimentary tennis courts, 14 restaurants, shops and the Ritz Carlton Spa, all of which you can charge to your room.
The villas are located in three distinct areas on the resort property. The ocean front Bay Villas complex overlooks Oneloa Bay and includes two private tennis courts, three swimming pools and barbeque areas that are a short walk to beautiful Kapalua Bay Beach.
On a higher promontory above the bay are the Ridge Villas, offering stunning views of the ocean and the island of Molokai, two recreational areas with swimming pools and barbeque areas. Golfers will enjoy the Golf Villa complex with its magnificent views of the Bay Golf Course and four recreational areas with swimming pools and barbeque areas.
The Kapalua Villas has a door-to-door shuttle service that provides transportation to the Kapalua Resort's hotels, shops, restaurants and beaches for swimming, snorkeling and other activities provided by the on-site full service concierge and activities desk. The property also features 24-hour check-in and security.
All of the one to three bedroom villas are extremely spacious (1,200 to 2,400 sq. ft.) with full kitchens, dining rooms and private lanais. Room amenities include cable TV with VCR or DVD, premium bedding, two direct dial telephones, ceiling fans, washer/dryer, robes and slippers, hair dryer, wet bar and more. A limited number of units have air conditioning. Because the units are privately owned, the décor will differ, with floor plans ranging from townhouses or loft style to one level units.
Those who would like to prepare their own meals in their condo can go to Safeway (open 24-hours) or Foodland in Lahaina to stock up on necessities. Because Kapalua is an upscale area, prices will generally be higher, although there are some wonderful restaurants including Jameson's Bar & Grill, Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar and the Plantation House Restaurant.
More moderately priced restaurant options are located in Lahaina. A good place to start off your day is the Pioneer Inn, serving breakfast for years in their snug Harbor Bar or on the lanai looking out over historic Lahaina Harbor. The Inn was built on the Harbor back in 1901 and is considered a must for breakfast by both residents and visitors alike.
Resort Fee: A Resort Fee of $18 per room, per day includes overnight parking, use of an in-room safe, high speed internet access, local, domestic and international phone calls to over 40 countries, access to the resort's shuttle service, unlimited tennis at the Kapalua Tennis Garden, pool privileges at The Ritz Carlton Kapalua, preferred golf tee times, resort-wide charging privileges, shuttle service to and from the Kapalua West Maui Airport JHM and incoming faxes.
