The Maile Sky Court, a LITE hotel is a good choice for the budget traveler. It has a good location at the western end of Waikiki. The hotel is just a short walk across a beautiful park to Waikiki Beach, Hawaiian Convention Center and the exciting Waikiki Beach Walk area with it’s great restaurants, shops and entertainment. The building is an older high rise that features fabulous ocean or city views on the higher floors.
The property amenities include a swimming pool, hot tub and spacious sun deck as well as a poolside bar. The Vit’s Hawaiian Steakhouse & Lounge features feast on fresh Hawaiian island cuisine and tropical cocktails, open daily until 2 am, is well worth a visit.
Other property amenities include free WiFi in the lobby, luggage storage, parking (fee), laundry facility, business services (fee), barber shop, gift shop, sundry store, activities desk, 24 hour front desk, security and much more. The hotel also features family friendly accommodations, with children 17 years and younger free when staying with parents in existing bedding.
If you intend to spend most of your time in your hotel room and are expecting luxurious accommodations you will have to spend hundreds of dollars more per night. If instead, you are using the hotel as a base and as a clean, friendly place to return to after a full day of activities, than it would be hard to beat the budget-friendly Maile Sky Court, which offers great value at reasonable prices.
The Maile Sky Court will be officially named “Holiday Inn Express Honolulu – Waikiki” on January 12, 2017. The hotel is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar transformation.
PROPERTY UPDATE: Extensive renovation, the hotel will have limited room inventory through November 2016. Work will be limited to Monday through Saturday from 8am-6pm. Guests will be placed as far away from the work as possible. Proper signage will be posted throughout the property to ensure guest safety. Due to the nature of the project, the property will have limited parking stalls available for guest use for the duration of the renovation project. From July 12, 2016, Kuhio side driveway and lobby has been closed and will last 3-4 months (subject to weather and unforeseen circumstances). 5th floor pool deck: Starting August 1, 2016 the demolition/construction on the pool deck will begin and will last approximately 3-4 months (subject to weather and unforeseen circumstances). During this time, there will be no access to the pool, jet spa, and pool deck.
