The 3-star Aqua Waikiki Wave is an affordable boutique Hawaii hotel offering an island-inspired sanctuary in the heart of Waikiki on Kuhio Avenue, one block to the beach and adjacent to the International Market Place and steps to Waikiki’s shopping, dining, and sightseeing adventures. It is also an ideal spot to catch The Bus to Ala Moana Center and almost anywhere else you’d like to go. The property has received nothing but rave reviews from guests and is one of the most popular hotels in Waikiki. They were recently named one of the “Best Values in the world” by Budget Travel magazine and consistently ranked in the “Top 20 Waikiki Hotels” with TripAdvisor.
The property amenities include Activity Desk, Concierge, complimentary Wi-Fi, parking (fee), Fitness center (open 6am to 9pm daily), room service and much more. This is a Pet Friendly hotel and allow maximum 2 dogs per room, up to 40 pounds (fee), by providing your furry friends with tail-wagging treats, in-room food & water bowls, doggie liners, doggie bed and a toy for your dog to take home upon arrival.
All major tour pick-ups can be arranged for pick up directly in the front of the hotel. Honolulu’s most popular golf course is just across the Ala Wai Canal from Waikiki; Kapiolani Park, home to the Honolulu Zoo and Aquarium, Waikiki Shell and the Kapiolani Bandstand is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the hotel. Almost every weekend some festival, art or craft show takes place there as well as free movies shown on the beach at the beginning of the park usually every other Saturday and Sunday.
There are two themed restaurants on the hotel lobby level including Da Big Kahuna, offering food and sports entertainment. The tiki-tropical setting is authentic Waikiki from the 1940’s with a menu that features burgers, big salads, finger food and pizza. The China Garden Restaurant seems to come right out of Hong Kong and features Cantonese cuisine in a lovely setting.
The Aqua Waikiki Wave is not only a lovely hotel, but the staff is becoming noted for their helpful, aloha spirit, always willing to offer good advice on where to eat, what to see and give you the local angle on events going on in town. It’s not right on the beach, but then again its also hundreds of dollars less a night because of that.
