Description

Travel deep into Kauai's verdant interior as you follow the gentle Wailua River. Once the home of ancient Kauai chieftains, the river was once held as a place of enormous religious power. Explore the many intriguing sites along its winding path, such as the Fern Grotto, where the enchanting Hawaiian Wedding Song is often performed. The Grotto also has the distinction of being one of the most romantic places on Kauai.

Continue to the sacred Hikina Heiau (Temple of Refuge) and Maiae Heiau where the early Polynesians came to worship. You'll visit the royal grounds of Coco Palms and the magnificent cascading waters of Opaekaa Falls.
